Decaf boards are USB HIDs (Human Interface Devices) and as such are fully supported under Windows 10. As HIDs, they are also supportable under all versions of linux. Our development targets include Ubuntu running on a Dell Precision 670 dual XEON workstation, several RaspberryPie 2 and 3 boards running Raspbian, and some industrial-grade Android devices.

As the title of this post says, linux is not perfect, but neither is Windows. Both have their quirks, irritations and frustrations.
We strongly suggest you read this article:

As we work through the development process, we'll add sub-forums and topics.
